Let's narrow it down

Two taps. No email, no phone number, no catch.

Step 1 — Who's doing the jumping?

Step 2 — Where are we setting up?

A plain bouncer will do more work

Under about 6, a slide mostly creates a queue and a climb. An open jump area keeps everyone bouncing at once. Most standard bounce houses are built for around 5 to 6 kids of similar size at a time.

Grassy backyard: we anchor with stakes, so mark any sprinkler heads or underground lines before we arrive. Mow no later than the day before, and clear pet waste and toys from the setup area.

Driveway or concrete: doable in a lot of cases, but it changes how we anchor. Tell us at booking that there's no grass so we bring the right setup.

Park, school, or church lot: tell us which one when you book. The Town of Cedar Lake books its own shelters and the lakefront, and each spot has its own rules. You'll also need a plan for power — we need one standard outlet within 50 feet, which often means a generator.

This age wants a climb and a drop

Seven-and-up burns out on a plain bounce in about twenty minutes. A slide or a themed unit holds them for the whole party. Both of these work for this age.

Two smaller setups beat one big one

With a wide age range, one inflatable turns into a bottleneck and the little ones get bounced around by the big ones. A large combo plus a game splits the crowd and keeps the teenagers and adults busy too.

Park, school, or church lot: tell us which one when you book. Two inflatables usually means two outlets or a generator, and the Town of Cedar Lake wants a rental permit for anything that counts as a large gathering.

A quick run-through before delivery day

Seven things to have sorted before our trailer pulls into your Cedar Lake driveway. Get these right and setup takes minutes.

0 of 7 done

  • Measure before you chooseCheck the space listed on the product page against your yard. We can't be responsible for a unit that doesn't fit once we arrive.
  • Cut the grass a day earlyFresh clippings stick to vinyl and end up inside the bounce house with the kids.
  • Walk the yard for dog messWe ask for this every time, and every time somebody is glad we did.
  • Work out the powerOne standard household outlet runs most bounce houses, and the blower stays running the whole time it's in use.
  • Show us what's undergroundInflatables get staked into the ground. If we don't know where the lines are, we can't avoid them.
  • Clear the way throughGates unlocked, toys and patio furniture moved, low branches noted. Rolled-up inflatables are heavy and wide.
  • Set the balance asideCash or check, handed over at setup. That's the last thing on the list.

Thinking about the lakefront instead?

Cedar Lake rents out its shelters and lakefront spaces through the town's own parks department, and a permit isn't optional for a party. You'll also need power within 50 feet, which at most of these spots means a generator.

Tap a spot for what you'll need to arrange.

Lake of the Red Cedars Park Town Complex, 7408 Constitution Ave

The town grounds — 18 acres with more than 500 feet of lakeshore, gazebos and several separate shelters you can reserve: one by the museum and bandstand, one behind the bandstand near the Yacht Club, and one behind the complex looking out over the water. It's also where SummerFest sets up, so the Fourth of July weekend is spoken for well in advance.

The public beach and pier Off Lakeshore Drive

There's a shelter here you can rent through the park office, and the town is direct about it: large gatherings and parties aren't permitted without a rental permit. Get that sorted first, then we'll work out where an inflatable can sit safely back from the water.

The 137th Avenue shelter 9401 W. 137th Ave

A quieter option away from the lakefront, with picnic tables and listed electricity. Worth confirming with the park office that there's an outlet we can actually run a blower from before you count on it — listed electricity and a usable 50-foot run aren't always the same thing.

The Clubhouse 9800 W. 129th Ave

Indoor space with its own scheduled access system, handy if you want the food and presents inside and the bouncing outside. Bear in mind that's two separate permissions, so mention the inflatable when you book the room rather than after.

Tell us the spot when you book and we'll walk you through what they'll want from us. The Cedar Lake Parks Department is on (219) 374-7400, extension 7. Registered Lake County non-profits serving Cedar Lake residents can also ask about the discounted rate.

Who you're actually renting from

One bad rental, nine years ago

Nine years ago we rented a bounce house for a Fourth of July party. The communication was poor and the service was worse. So we bought our own inflatable, then bought a small local rental company that was closing — a trailer, a phone number, and a handful of units.

That's Bouncy B's. The name comes from our three kids: Brayden, Bryce and Briella — they're the ones in the logo. Ray, Meghan and the kids are still the people answering the phone and pulling into your driveway.

Worth adding to the order

Add any of these to the same order and they arrive on the same trailer, on the same delivery fee. Here's what each one actually solves.

The questions we get asked most

Tap any question to open it.

How much does it cost to rent a bounce house in Cedar Lake?

Standard bounce houses start at $160. Combo units with a slide run from $247.20 up to $360.50 depending on size. Delivery is quoted separately against your Cedar Lake address at checkout, so you see it before you pay anything.

When should I be booking?

As early as you can. Popular weekends, the Fourth of July, holidays and graduation season fill up quickly here, and the earlier you reserve the more of the catalog you get to choose from.

How many kids fit in a bounce house at once?

Most standard bounce houses are designed for roughly 5 to 6 children of similar size at a time. Exact occupancy is listed on each rental page, and kids of similar age and size should bounce together.

Can we set up at the Cedar Lake town grounds or the beach?

Usually, with two things in place. First, a rental permit — the shelters at the Town Complex on Constitution Avenue and the one at the public beach are booked through the Cedar Lake Parks Department, and the town is explicit that large gatherings and parties aren't allowed at the beach without a permit. Second, power: unless the shelter has a working outlet within 50 feet, you'll need a generator. Tell us the spot when you book and we'll talk you through it.

What happens if the weather turns?

Safety comes first. If severe weather is expected we may recommend postponing, and rescheduling options may be available. For inflatables we ask for at least 24 hours' notice on a weather-related reschedule, so call or text us as soon as the forecast turns.

Can you set up on a driveway instead of grass?

Concrete and pavement work in many cases, but it changes how we anchor, so tell us during booking if there's no grass at your setup spot.

Does a bounce house need electricity?

Yes. Most bounce houses run on one standard household outlet within 50 feet of the setup area, and the blower needs to stay running the whole time the unit is in use. Down at the town grounds or the beach that normally means bringing a generator.

Are the inflatables cleaned between parties?

Yes — every inflatable is cleaned and sanitized before each rental, not just at the end of a busy weekend.

When do I pay, and what's the cancellation policy?

A deposit reserves your rentals for your date and is non-refundable, since it takes those units off the calendar. If you only paid a deposit, the remaining balance is due at setup by cash or check. Weather-related rescheduling options may be available with proper notice.
