Pin the date down first

Here's a Munster-specific reason to settle your date early: the town charges a fee every time you change the date, time or location of a shelter booking. Pick the day once, book it once. Set your date and the grid below only shows what's actually free.

Let us point you at the right one

Two taps. No email, no phone number, no catch.

Step 1 — Who's doing the jumping?

Step 2 — Where are we setting up?

Little kids, simple setup

Under about 6, a slide mostly creates a queue and a climb. An open jump area keeps everyone bouncing at once. Most standard bounce houses are built for around 5 to 6 kids of similar size at a time.

Grassy backyard: we anchor with stakes, so mark any sprinkler heads or underground lines before we arrive. Mow no later than the day before, and clear pet waste and toys from the setup area.

Driveway or concrete: doable in a lot of cases, but it changes how we anchor. Tell us at booking that there's no grass so we bring the right setup.

Park, school, or church lot: tell us which one when you book. If you're looking at a Munster park, the shelters are sized properly — Community Park's Lions Shelter seats 144. Check with the park office whether your shelter has a usable outlet within 50 feet, because otherwise it's a generator.

The seven-to-twelve crowd

Seven-and-up burns out on a plain bounce in about twenty minutes. A slide or a themed unit holds them for the whole party. Both of these work for this age.

A big mixed-age guest list

With a wide age range, one inflatable turns into a bottleneck and the little ones get bounced around by the big ones. A large combo plus a game splits the crowd and keeps the teenagers and adults busy too.

Park, school, or church lot: tell us which one when you book. Two inflatables usually means two outlets or a generator, and in Munster any party of 15 or more needs a shelter rental contract.

  • Measure your spaceCheck the space listed on the product page against your yard. We can't be responsible for a unit that doesn't fit once we arrive.
  • Mow the day beforeFresh clippings stick to vinyl and end up inside the bounce house with the kids.
  • Check for pet messWe ask for this every time, and every time somebody is glad we did.
  • Pick your power pointOne standard household outlet runs most bounce houses, and the blower stays running the whole time it's in use.
  • Mark buried sprinklersInflatables get staked into the ground. If we don't know where the lines are, we can't avoid them.
  • Open the gate and clear itGates unlocked, toys and patio furniture moved, low branches noted. Rolled-up inflatables are heavy and wide.
  • Have the balance to handCash or check, handed over at setup. That's the last thing on the list.

Munster's older streets have mature trees, so check for low branches over the spot where the unit is going — they matter more than the lawn size.

Munster's shelters are the biggest around

If you're expecting a proper crowd, this is a good town for it — the Lions Shelter at Community Park seats 144, which is larger than anything the neighbouring towns rent out. Booking here is a little more formal than elsewhere, so it's worth knowing the rules before you commit to a date.

Tap through for the details.

Centennial Park East and West Shelters, 100 seats each

The town's largest park, on Calumet Avenue just south of 45th Street, with two shelters seating 100 apiece plus an entertainment stage, formal gardens, a playground, fishing and a nine-hole golf course. One thing to warn your guests about: Centennial runs paid parking, and vehicles need to be registered with the town for the season, so don't let people turn up assuming they can just pull in.

Community Park Lions Shelter 144 seats · Rotary Shelter 100

Home to the biggest shelter in town. If your guest list has crept past a hundred — a big family party, a church group, a whole class of school friends and their parents — the Lions Shelter is the one that fits, and the Rotary Shelter next door handles 100.

White Oak Park Shelter seats 96

A solid middle option at just under a hundred seats, and usually easier to get than the two headline parks on a summer Saturday. Good if you want something substantial without the parking arrangements that come with Centennial.

The neighbourhood shelters Beech, Bluebird, Cobblestones, Grove, Stewart, Frank Hammond, Westlakes

Seven smaller shelters seating 48 each, which is plenty for a normal birthday party and usually the cheapest way to do it. Two rules to plan around wherever you book: any party of 15 or more needs a rental contract, and reservations are made in person at the Park Office with the full fee plus a refundable $125 damage deposit paid up front. There's also a fee each time you change the date, time or location afterwards — so pick your day before you book. Worth knowing if you're organising for a school: weekday shelter fees are waived for Munster schools.

Shelter bookings are handled in person at the Munster Park Office. Tell us which shelter you've reserved and how many you're expecting, and we'll match the unit to the space.

Who you're actually renting from

Run by one family since day one

Nine years ago we rented a bounce house for a Fourth of July party. The communication was poor and the service was worse. So we bought our own inflatable, then bought a small local rental company that was closing — a trailer, a phone number, and a handful of units.

That's Bouncy B's. The name comes from our three kids: Brayden, Bryce and Briella — they're the ones in the logo. Ray, Meghan and the kids are still the people answering the phone and pulling into your driveway.

The usual questions

Tap any question to open it.

How much does it cost to rent a bounce house in Munster?

Standard bounce houses start at $160. Combo units with a slide run from $247.20 up to $360.50 depending on size. Delivery is quoted separately against your Munster address at checkout, so you see it before you pay anything.

When is the best time to book?

As early as you can. Popular weekends, the summer holidays and graduation season fill up quickly here, and the earlier you reserve the more of the catalog you get to choose from.

How many kids fit in a bounce house at once?

Most standard bounce houses are designed for roughly 5 to 6 children of similar size at a time. Exact occupancy is listed on each rental page, and kids of similar age and size should bounce together.

Can we hold the party in a Munster park?

Yes, and Munster has some of the largest shelters around — Community Park's Lions Shelter seats 144 and the Centennial Park East and West shelters seat 100 each. Four things to plan around: any party of 15 or more needs a shelter rental contract; reservations have to be made in person at the Park Office, with the full fee plus a refundable $125 damage deposit due at the time of booking; there's a fee for changing the date, time or location afterwards, so settle the day first; and Centennial Park runs paid parking with annual vehicle registration, so tell your guests before they arrive. Ask the office whether your shelter has a usable outlet — if not, you'll need a generator.

What happens if the weather turns?

Safety comes first. If severe weather is expected we may recommend postponing, and rescheduling options may be available. For inflatables we ask for at least 24 hours' notice on a weather-related reschedule, so call or text us as soon as the forecast turns.

Can you set up on a driveway instead of grass?

Concrete and pavement work in many cases, but it changes how we anchor, so tell us during booking if there's no grass at your setup spot.

Does a bounce house need electricity?

Yes. Most bounce houses run on one standard household outlet within 50 feet of the setup area, and the blower needs to stay running the whole time the unit is in use. At a Munster park shelter, check with the park office first — if there's no usable outlet, that means a generator.

How do you clean the inflatables?

Yes — every inflatable is cleaned and sanitized before each rental, not just at the end of a busy weekend.

When do I pay, and what's the cancellation policy?

A deposit reserves your rentals for your date and is non-refundable, since it takes those units off the calendar. If you only paid a deposit, the remaining balance is due at setup by cash or check. Weather-related rescheduling options may be available with proper notice.
